LEADERS OF TOMORROW® OVERVIEW

What is Leaders of Tomorrow®?

Leaders of Tomorrow® (LOT®) Atlanta is an academic enrichment and mentoring program started by the National Black MBA Association® in 1991. Using a  comprehensive programmatic approach, we provide leadership development to high school students throughout Metropolitan Atlanta. The program is driven by mentoring and education with a focus on five developmental areas: Leadership,  Financial Literacy, College Preparation, Career Preparation and Life Skills. We  proudly offer our students resources, knowledge, opportunities, and scholarships to ensure their future success.
One of the highlights of our program is our National Business Case Competition. The Business Case Competition is a competitive business skills program where our Leaders of Tomorrow® Atlanta students learn how to study and address business challenges in a team-driven learning environment. They are taught fundamental skills in critical thinking, problem solving and communication. Our students deliver their business case to a panel of judges and compete for scholarship funds annually at our National Leadership Summit.
The Atlanta Chapter introduced the following Career Communities in 2023 to our Leaders:

STEAM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics; added applied sciences and space place

GLEN - Government, Law, Education, Non-profit

BUSINESS - Finance consulting, Entrepreneurship, Marketing/PR

  • The primary focus is to expose our youth to various career opportunities post high school.  These include college and non-traditional pathways.
  • LOT® is a college prep program; however, we understand that our Leaders have multiple options after graduation including a 2-year college, trade school, certification courses, military service, and entering the workforce. We offer alternative options for our leaders to ensure they are successful post-high school.
  • Exposure and opportunity are integral to our mission.  Summer jobs, internships, interviewing, and resume tips are all included.
Session year includes:
  • Monthly in-person sessions - September - May
  • Monthly - 2nd Saturday Zoom sessions
  • LOT® National Summit in June
  • Senior Sendoff/End of Summer Event - July
  • Applications open for the upcoming session year in July and the orientation takes place at the end of August.
